The Duncan parents seem to be in need of a night out. Since the baby was born, they haven't spent much alone time with each other and it's starting to take a toll on them. They're even speaking in baby talk when Charlie's not around! Teddy convinces Amy and Bob to take the night off while she and her brothers take care of Charlie. PJ and Gabe don't seem to be into babysitting Charlie much at all. It takes Teddy some persuasion, but she finally gets PJ to take his baby sister to the park with him while he shoots some hoops- or ride a seal, whichever is more up his alley. While at the park, PJ meets Captain Stretchy, a giant purple children's entertainer looking for his kid's party. Shortly after this encounter, PJ meets Emma, a cute girl around his age who is taking her baby brother out. PJ and Emma start talking about Captain Stretchy and how it's good to stick around with your baby siblings. We cut back to the Duncan house where Gabe shows Teddy a "magic trick". Just then, PJ comes back to the house with the stroller and starts talking about his good day. All seems good until Teddy takes a look into the stroller and notices a key flaw- PJ has the wrong baby! Since Emma gave PJ the wrong number, it looks like the kids have to go to the park to find her and Charlie. The kids can't seem to find Emma around, but PJ does catch up with Captain Stretchy again, who was an entertainer at Emma's younger sibling's birthday. Stretchy sees that the Duncans need information that he has, and decides to take this chance to earn himself a new mirdle (a man-girdle) out of it. PJ bribes him and Stretchy talks about Emma's big family, who he has entertained on numerous occasions. Stretchy then shows the kids the way to Emma's house. Meanwhile, the parents are out at one of Bob's best customers ("Not something you want to hear from an exterminator!"). Amy notices that one table has a baby stroller which looks very similar to the one they take Charlie in. Amy attempts to go to the ladies room, but on her way, notices that the baby in the stroller IS Charlie. Bob tells her that Amy is probably just missing Charlie now and is hallucinating the image of her baby in the stroller, which Amy agrees to. After driving around to find Emma's house, Captain Stretchy admits that he isn't of any help to the kids since he has night blindness. PJ stops at his house and drops the guy off, which leaves the kids alone. Teddy and PJ have an intimate discussion about how PJ feels inferior as the oldest sibling if he can't keep watch on his baby sister, while Teddy tries to comfort him. While the pilot helped to make Teddy and Gabe a little closer, the second one is beneficial towards Teddy and her older brother. By some strange miracle, Teddy, PJ, and Gabe find their way to the restaurant that Emma and her family are eating at with Charlie, which also happens to be the same place their parents are at. By rotten luck, they run into their parents first before they can switch out strollers. Teddy gets Gabe to do a magic trick for his parents before handing Charlie over to them, which gives them enough time to successfully switch out babies. All seems well, as Charlie is back, and it turns out PJ just added Emma's number in wrong. Well, except that there were some questions that the kids just couldn't answer to Amy, and PJ totally blew his chances with Emma. Ah well, you can't win them all. At least Charlie was safe. |
